Spring is finally upon us... well sort of. The weather still seems a tad-bit bipolar as it snowed last week and is a beautiful sunny day today. Either way, we're happy the flowers are blooming, the trees are budding, the grass is green and the pool is opening in just a month!
Spring also brings Easter. This Easter season, we've been able to do a few more "fun" things since Elianna is now two. This week we dyed Easter eggs, made cut-out sugar cookies (flowers, bunnies and ducks) and read all about Easter and what it means. Tomorrow we'll get dressed up, go to church to worship Jesus as He has risen indeed!, and then head to a friend's house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Elianna and Jameson will also get their very first Easter baskets, complete with sidewalk chalk, Elmo coloring books, Elmo books, rubber ducks for the bath tub and other various things I've collected on clearance. I bought the baskets and the grass last spring after Easter, super cheap at Kmart.
Dying Easter eggs for the very first time
My littlest love...
Proof of terrible-twos
Elianna is definitely in full "terrible-two" mode. We have melt downs at least 5 times a day, which include but are not limited to: throwing her head back, collapsing on the floor, foot stomping, tears streaming, yelling "no thank you mommy" and a variety of other fun reactions. On the bright side, she is learning so much. She loves to sit by her book self, taking the books off one-by-one and "read" them to herself. She counts to 15, with some help and knows about 3/4ths of the alphabet. She loved to sing, "if you're happy and you know it," "this little light of mine," "my God is so big" and other fun songs. Hopping, marching, dancing and pointing our toes and heels are among other fun activities of each day. This week Elianna also began praying all by herself! Her first prayer went like this, "Dear Jesus, thank you food, ..., ..., food, ..., Amen!" Her second prayer went like this, "Dear Jesus, ..., dear Jesus, ..., food, Amen!" The their one included mom and dad, so it seems progress is being made. Oh that she may know the love of Jesus as she grows and learn to love Him too!
The kids are also beginning to interact quite a bit too. They love to laugh at each other, "share" the same toy and take turns doing "tick-tock" with daddy or "airplane" with mommy. Its been so fun to see them discover each other.
So that's what we've been up to the last couple of months that I've neglected this blog. Nothing exciting but slow days are good days to sit back and watch as life goes by. Watching the kids grow each day is one of my life's greatest joys. May I never takes theses precious days for granted.
